Sunny Saturday!

Oh, we are enjoying our sun puddles!

Mindy
Here I am on the sofa with all my favorite towels and blankets.  See that nice ray of sunshine?

Cookie
I am upstairs at the entrance to 'my' office.  I've caught a few warm rays of sun too.

Mike
Where shall I find my warming ray of sun.  Will it be downstairs or upstairs?  Decisions, decisions.  Maybe I will sleep on that thought.

Moe
I've found a sunny window sill.   Oh, and when did this get put here?  All changes in this house need my approval.  I haven't given it yet!

Have a great weekend everyone!

National Feral Cat Day

Hi, from Mindy -

This morning I looked at our calendar -

Did you know that October 16th is National Feral Cat Day?

Since I was born feral and eventually rescued, I want to pay tribute to all who  rescue or help feral cats in any way.

One person who does this is Pierre's Alley Cats and his special mission is to rescue the many 'dockyard cats' found in our port city.

We bought two of the calendars which are sold as a way to raise funds for the kitties at the dockyard.

This calendar has proven to be very useful!  Today, 16th October, is National Feral Cat Day and if you look ahead the 29th October is National Cat Day!

Oh, yes, Thursday the 31st is Halloween!  Do you have your costume picked out yet?

Our Thanksgiving

Our Thanksgiving in Canada was yesterday.

Our humans were away lots this month, however, they are back home and were around to help us celebrate this important occasion!

They always cook a turkey, and we always get to have some.  If fact, they always have way more than they can possibly eat in our fridge.  We HAVE to help them eat up our turkey and we are definitely helping with that!!

Mindy

I am watching the doorway to the kitchen.

Moe

I am also watching and listening!

Cookie

I am not in a deep sleep, my ears are alert, hoping some turkey will be served soon!

Mike

I will have a quick wash before the turkey is served.

Another reason this time of year is special to us, is that it is our human grandma's birthday.  This year she is 89 years old - something to celebrate!

Here she is blowing out her birthday candles!

Where we live, we get some lovely fall colours to help us celebrate our Thanksgiving.

and it is also harvest time
lots of pumpkins

Our humans grow these to make jelly
We have one grapevine in our yard, but there is usually enough to make at least one jar of grape jelly - but one jar is enough.

While our humans were away in the Annapolis Valley they visited these ponies

they live near our human Auntie and Uncle and very close to where Mindy and Moe were born.

We have to show you a photo of the beautiful sunsets we always look forward to, especially lovely at this time of year -

Now back to snoozing and dreaming about that delicious turkey!

Not So Easy on Sunday!

As a matter of fact, we are more than a little worried!

Mindy:

There goes mom and dadbean.  Yikes,  they are going out and we haven't had our foods yet!!

Moe:

You are right on Mindy, they do seem to be leaving.  Did they forget to put something in our bowls?

Mike:
Help!!  Need food.  Preferably, something that comes out of a can - that tasty stuff with the gravy.

Cookie:
Um, yeah, Mike, but it is not actually time for us to eat.  I know where they went though.  They went off to give meals to our two cat neighbors.  Their peoples were away  last night and won't be back until later today.  They have been without their snacks and cuddles.  After all, yesterday when they left is a long time ago, right?

Moe and Mindy:
Cookie is right, our neighbor kitties need to be taken care of first, they have been alone and will want some attention.  They are very nice cats,  although we do not want them here as our guests.  No way!

We hope our humans don't forget to come back!  They seem to think Maddie is very cute.
This is Maddie.  Um, that food sure looks tasty!  She loves lots and lots of cuddles too.

Her son lives next door to Maddie.  His name is:

Bruno
Bruno is a large cat.  Much larger than any of us.  His humans did not think he would come out to greet our humans when they went over to give him supper.  Surprise though, he didn't hesitate to come and be made a fuss of.

His people did say that he probably would still have some of his breakfast and lunch still in his dish.  They were right.  For such a big cat, he still had lots of dry foods.  Maybe he was hoping for some tasty treats, we hear he loves fresh fish that his people give him.

Well the good thing about having to share our 'beans with Maddie and Bruno is that soon things will be back to normal.  Thank goodness!

Wednesday Wild Things

Mindy:

This morning I watched while our humom scattered some sunflower seed on the big rock where the pheasants and doves like to dine.

We went to the window to watch our "bird TV" to start.  We love watching the birds!

However, this is what we saw instead -

A very cheeky deer!  It stuck it's tongue out at us and started to eat the bird's seed and wouldn't leave until it had feasted on every seed out on the big rock.  Oh, the outrage we all felt!  For dessert, it munched on mombean's hosta plants.  She was not happy about that.  The dead-looking branches in the background are what is left of our rhododendron bushes.

Mike and Moe:

We were hoping that those tasty-looking pheasants would come for our...  er, we mean their breakfast at the big rock too.  They did not show up this morning.

Cookie:

I can hear the rain starting to hit our windows, therefore, I think I will go into our office/music room and find my favorite office chair.  A restful nap is a great way to spend a drizzly day!

We wish our visitors a great mid-week day!!

Mindy on Monday

Mindy:
I wanted to let you know we have adopted two Virtual Angel Squillions from the Cat Blogosphere Shelter.

We added them to our family in honor of two of our family members that have crossed Rainbow Bridge - Skie and BonBon.   I'm going though our computer files to look for photos of them on our archived disks.  ( Found them! )

Both of these boys were white, short haired kitties.  However, they were very different in purrsonality.  Skie was loud, hissed at everyone, and would lash out with his paws.  It did not take much to get him going.  A previous owner had him declawed, so even though strangers were afraid of him, they were never in any danger of being clawed.  He could very affectionate as well as unpredictable.  He loved to climb up high on something and observe or leap from up there.  Our mom loved his quirky ways, never a dull moment.  He was with us about a year and only 9 years old when he left us.

(Angel) Skie

BonBon, also, known as Bono was the complete opposite.  He was very, very quiet.   He never, ever raised his voice.  Actually seldom spoke at all.  When he was happy, he would purr softly.  He had large expressive eyes, that our mom thought always looked a bit sad, even when he was obviously happy!  He loved attention, but wouldn't ever ask for it.  He got lots of loves though.  He left us after three years at the age of 17.

(Angel) BonBon

We didn't know them for very long, but we remember and love them in the short time they were with us.

Tabby Thursday

Cookie:

Our humans are going out for the day.  So, we are in charge of everything here at home.  Hmmm, what to do.  What do you do in this situation?

Mindy:
I am going to work on getting my beauty sleep, I have the bed all to myself.
I can stretch out and  take a bath, what luxury.

Moe:
I am stretched out, but close to the kitchen.  Should I have a sudden snack attack, I don't have far to go and I am good at finding the hidden treats.

Mike:
I am anxious, wondering when I will get my next meal.  If our people are gone, when will I  receive lunch, my snack or any of the important times to eat?

Hope all of you are having a good Thursday and your humans have not abandoned you!

Tabby Tuesday

Does it look as if we are making good use of our cat tree?

Mike:  I am on the roof and I can see out of the window, which means I can check for introoders in our yard - if I keep my eyes open!

Cookie:  I will share my water dish with you Mike, but I get to drink from it first, it's my bowl.  Nice of me though isn't it?
Mike:  yea, yea, whatever...

Moe:  I am the chief Party Mix hunter
Here they are!!  Right where I know to find them.

Mindy:  Good for you Moe!
Of course, you know you need to share these Moe!

Are you able to get the bag open as well?
