Monday, Stormy Weather

Mindy and Mike
It is raining hard and our dadbean says there are over 3,000 homes in our area without electric power because of the wind.

We are warm and dry and still have the power on.   We found the perfect place to be during the storm.

Cookie
I am cozy and warm and I have my snack close by.  My appetite is not what it was in the past.  My meds are mixed with canned stinky goodness which I usually eat all up.  I have actually put on some weight, and this makes my humans and the vet quite happy.

I am happy with my own room, bed, litter box, snacks - all the comforts, of course!  OK, now back to snoozing.

Moe
Rain, rain go away - and that goes for the wind too!  I can hardly get any rest.  Perhaps I should ask for an early supper tonight.  When you can't sleep, you can always eat and I love to eat.

Here is a photo of the stray kitty taken the other day in our neighbourhood.  Mom wasn't quick enough to get a photo of her coming down the slide!
We have just heard that she has been adopted by our close neighbour a few houses away from ours.  Her original owner has never asked where she is or tried to find her.  We are glad she has a better home now with her new people.

We hope everyone's Monday is going better than ours!

We thought we would add a couple of bonus photos:
Here is our dadbean taking a photo from his brother's condo on the top floor of the building.  The building is pet friendly, because dad met a dog in the hallway.  We are guessing there must be some kitties there too.

Here is a photo that our dadbean took from the balcony.
It is a photo of the our city taken at night.  In the background you may be able to see a suspension bridge over the harbour.

Now, back to storm watching - or not!

Wordless Wednesday

No words, just us.
However we can purr loud!

Are you able to hear us?

Cookie:

Did you know that we have islands in our harbour?
This one is called Georges Island

It has a lighthouse and a fort and not much else.

Enjoy your Wednesday!

Remembrance Day and Meeting Oscar

Our humans attended Remembrance Day Service this morning.  It was a beautiful day and many, many people were in attendance.

After this service, our mom, dad and aunti bean, went to visit a new kitten in the family.
His name is Oscar and he belongs to mombean and dadbean's son and girlfriend.  They told us that Oscar is very playful at 9 weeks and extremely cute!

We would like to teach him "the ropes" about how to properly train his humans, but he doesn't live close enough.

It's Caterday

Cookie:
A very sunny, pleasant November day.  As you can see by my expression I am not happy.  My paws needed cleaning (according to someone) and I got put in the bathtub with a couple of inches of water.

Mike:
I am taking a snooze, but my ears are alert - you need to be alert in case something exciting, like a possible snack, might be had.

Mindy:
I get to have the cat tree all to myself.   I might catch up on some beauty rest.

Moe:
Oh, that looks tasty!  Are you going to share?

Have a wonderful weekend everyone.

PS. here is a photo taken last night of our road at sunset.

Tabby Thursday

Moe:

I am trying to figure out how to get into this room.  If I am patient, sooner or later it will be open!

Mindy:

I am getting my beauty rest.  Can't have enough rest or beauty!!

Mike:

I am on call.   Is anybody going to call me?  Calling me to come to dinner would be great!

Cookie:

I had to go to the vet on Tuesday.  My eye was watery and starting to develop infection.  The vet put some stain in my eye to check for an ulcer.  I am now getting an anti virus med and a lubricant and had my eye washed with a solution.   I was very good about it, I am proud to say and let the vet examine me.  I came home with two different meds for my eye.  I get one treatment, then in 15 minutes I get the other one.   Things have not got worse, but I hope there is an improvement soon.

Happy Thursday everyone!

PS - it has come to our attention that this is National Feral Cat Day - October 16th!

Humph Wednesday!

Moe:

We are being abandoned, yet again.  Our humans are going to visit our Uncle Bean.  This means an overnight visit.  Our very nice lady next door will be our 'food lady'......thank heavens.  This means we will not have to worry when our next meal is coming.

Mindy:

I like our neighbour lady.  Even though I usually hide when people come into the house, she is the exception.  Plus I like it, when she fusses over me.  However, I do want our humans to return home as soon as possible.

Cookie:

I like meals on time.   I sure hope food lady knows my schedule and how to fix the soft food the way I like it.  Yes, I know there are meds mixed in but I really like that stinky goodness.

Mike:

I am so glad we won't have to worry about meals.  However, I sure hope our substitute food person will give me some proper adoration and attention.  That is almost as important as food.  Time will tell.

Happy Wednesday everyone, hope you get as much food and attention as you need and want!

++++++++

Oh yes,  Mombean says thanks for the birthday wishes she got on Monday from some of you.

She got this birthday gift, but it is no good because it is not edible.  It has possibilities as a rolling toy though!

September 19 is Talk Like a Pirate Day!

Ahoy Ye Swabs!

It be the day to talk like a pirate.

Moe:

I be ready for this day, arrh!

I also be wearin' my pirate cap.  Ok, ok I took a bribe like a true scallywag.

I be's off now, I think I might be able to hold my 'captives' ransom in exchange for some of that tasty fish I know is cooking in da galley.

Aye mates, may you all sail the high seas in search of yummy plunder....and then cooked to perfection by the galley slaves!

these slaves are sweating it out at the  Foggy Goggle

Fair winds to speed you!

Arrrh! Don't be forgetting to talk like a pirate - all day!!

Finally Friday

Mindy:
So Friday is here, but our hoomans are not, they are gone for most of the day.  We will keep an eye on things.

Moe:
Me too, I can see everything from here.

Mike:
With our people gone out, I can rest up on my favorite table, it is just my size.

Cookie:
I have two photos to show everyone.  These were taken yesterday when our humans went into the city.

This sailboat first.  It was sailing around in our big harbour.  I am not much of a sailor myself, but I think these people were enjoying themselves.

Had to show you this!  Have any of you ever seen a PINK bus?
It stops at the cruise ship terminal and takes passengers for a ride.  Not sure where.

All of us hope your Friday is terrific!

Finally Friday

Mike and Moe:
We've had such a busy week patroling the perimeter of our house and checking out of the windows into our yard looking for introoders.  However, we are still on duty  - we are just taking a break.  We deserve it!

Mindy:
Grooming is very important and I need to look absolutely perfect for when our mombean brings out that flashy box and takes my photo!!

Cookie:
At last I got to have some quality time with my dadbean.  Okay, maybe I had to yowl and get his attention.   this works as you can see,.....at least for me!

Have a fabulous weekend everyone!

Thankful Thursday

We are thankful that we get to do a post today!  Our humans have been busy with lots of relatives visiting this summer, so they have not been able to help us with more regular posts.

 Cookie:
Ah, I need to rub my cheeks on mombean's ankle.  I like it when she spends time with me.

 Mike:
I am looking for the perfect nap spot.  I have a choice of the sofa downstairs or the futon upstairs...decisions, decisions.

Mindy:
I am checking our window to view the bird TV, especially those hummingbirds coming to the feeder which is hanging just above this window.....outside of course!

Moe:

Good thing there are more windows so that I can get one to myself.  I prefer and open window, so I can hear as well as see all those tasty looking birds.

Peggy's Cove
This place is very near to us, probably about 20 miles.  Our humans took a detour recently and made a visit.

Here is our dadbean standing on the huge rocks and getting some photos.   The water you see is a small pool among all the rocks.  The ocean is behind him - you might be able to see the small glimpse of blue beyond the rocks.

Have a terrific day everyone!
