Gumboots, seriously?

  

 Moe: I am checking into this ..... 

 Yes, needed because it is seriously raining - I just checked out our deck.

 Mindy: I'll take a look out of the window

 Mindy says:  I confirm there is rain. 

 Mike:  I think I overheard our human beans talking about 'will be rain today'. 

  This won't ruin my day, because I'm an indoor mancat.  I think will hang out in the kitchen in case the refridgerator door gets opened.  I am an expert at diving in before it closes.

Mindy:

 I overheard our dadbean say that our lawn and gardens really need a good soak of rain.  This should make him happy.  Me, not so much....at least I don't have to go out into it.  Glad I am an indoor cat.

Mike:  Me too!

  I will stay here at the top of the stairs to keep track of the traffic going into the food preparation area, it is almost lunchtime.

Moe:  Great idea Mike!

 Please keep me informed of ANY activity in that area.

Cookie:  Moe your love of food is over rated!

 I believe that quality snoozing is what is important.....I can say that because I have this room all to myself and lots of dry food available.....ZZZZZZZZ



 While we all watch the downpour and watch the grass, and flowers grow.....

Tabby Tuesday - Rain

Yes, rain today, but we can use lots of rain for our garden.

Beauty sleep is important, so I make sure I get lots!

The door to the spare bedroom is open, so that means I must make sure this bed is comfortable for any guests that might stay over.

Monday, Stormy Weather

Mindy and Mike

It is raining hard and our dadbean says there are over 3,000 homes in our area without electric power because of the wind.

We are warm and dry and still have the power on.   We found the perfect place to be during the storm.

Cookie

I am cozy and warm and I have my snack close by.  My appetite is not what it was in the past.  My meds are mixed with canned stinky goodness which I usually eat all up.  I have actually put on some weight, and this makes my humans and the vet quite happy.  

I am happy with my own room, bed, litter box, snacks - all the comforts, of course!  OK, now back to snoozing.

Moe

 Rain, rain go away - and that goes for the wind too!  I can hardly get any rest.  Perhaps I should ask for an early supper tonight.  When you can't sleep, you can always eat and I love to eat.

Here is a photo of the stray kitty taken the other day in our neighbourhood.  Mom wasn't quick enough to get a photo of her coming down the slide!

  We have just heard that she has been adopted by our close neighbour a few houses away from ours.  Her original owner has never asked where she is or tried to find her.  We are glad she has a better home now with her new people.

We hope everyone's Monday is going better than ours!

Here is our dadbean taking a photo from his brother's condo on the top floor of the building.  The building is pet friendly, because dad met a dog in the hallway.  We are guessing there must be some kitties there too.

Mainly Rain on Monday

Yes, it is raining, but this is a good thing.  We haven't had much rain for our garden.

Along with the rain, we had some thunder showers, however only a couple of middle sized booms!

Our brave hummingbirds still visit us even when there is rain!

 

Cookie says:

 I am holding my own and spend all of my time in the bathroom now.

It means I have this room all to myself and I have dry food available all the time if I want it. 

I am a bit messy with my litter box habits, but the bathroom is the best place to be because of that.

I am back to eating better now and have put on some weight.

The only meds now are Gabapentin for pain control and my Aventi nutritional supplement.

 

Mike says:

 I have some issues too, like Cookie does, probably because of our ages - Cookie and I are both around 17 give or take, we came here not knowing our ages.  Age is just a number anyway.  I still have some allergy problems and get some PrednisLone every other day or so for my allergies.   Trying to come of this stuff though.  I get a bit of the Gabapentin like Cookie does.  I have a better appetite than he does.....I love to eat....anything goes!

Mindy says:

 I sometimes have to give Mike a whap or two.....'cause, you know, he seems to need it.  Our mombean thinks we should solves our issues in a better way.  Oh, don't fee sorry for him....he is quite a bit bigger than I am.   However, I rule, hee, hee.

Moe says:

 

 When is it dinnertime?  In fact, I think it is about now.  We need to get right on that, fast.

 Here is our Monkshood, and it is drooping because of the rain.....which we need as already mentioned.

 Anyway we need to wrap this up as Mom and Dad bean are going out to the airport to pick up the sonbean who was at a conference in Texas.  Wonder if he brought us anything?  Toys and/or food, we are not fussy.

We are Lucky Cats

We are lucky kitties because of where we live.  We are not usually subject to earthquakes or flooding, as we are on high ground, nor tornadoes.  Our biggest threats from natural disaster would be a bad hurricane, snowstorm or a forest fire.

This week, we heard about a brave kitty called Momo who lives in Alberta, Canada. Recently this province has been hit with a slow moving storm which has dropped unprecedented amounts of rain filling the rivers to over flowing.  These rivers spilled down the Rocky Mountains and quickly caused massive flooding in this province.

Momo 's owner had rushed home to rescue her from the rising waters around their home.  They were making their getaway in the truck until the vehicle hit a deep spot and started sinking.

Both Momo and her owner escaped the truck but had to swim.  They both made it to shore and were pulled to safety.  Momo's owner knew she liked paddling around in the bathtub, but was amazed she could swim so far.

Yes, we cats can swim if needed, however useful, we would prefer to NOT to have use this skill, unless our lives depend on it, right?   Any kitties out there LIKE to swim?

I like to watch water swirl around in the laundry room set tub, and sometimes I like to stick my paw in the water dish while I drink from it.

 

Mindy

Water is strictly for drinking, and I like it cool and fresh.

 

Mike

I don't really need water for my washing up; um, I'll just use my amazing tongue.

 

Cookie

I think a cloth dampened with a bit of water might collect some of my fur that has collected on this chair but on second thought, forget it; 'my' chair is perfect the way it is!!

Whacky Wednesday

 

Moe: Is our blog title word 'whacky' spelled right, or should we lose the 'h'?   Our typist - aka - mombean, isn't sure.

As you can see from my photo today - I am a little, um 'whacky' myself because we have a new scratching post with a little catnip added!

This makes my day!  I even shared it with Mindy.


Mindy:  Of course Moe you have to share!  I like the new catnip scratch post too!  Although, I don't seem to get as whacky.

I love investigating anything new, especially when it is something special for us.
Not much going on outside today - on account of the rainy day.  Apparently, it is supposed to rain tomorrow and into the weekend.   Yikes.  

This means that looking out of our window is not so much fun, however, there are a few brave birds at our feeder.   The pheasant shrieks when it wants seeds put out......so loud!

Here I am on the bed keeping dadbean company.  He is suffering from a bad cold, so I am helping him to feel better and get well quick!

Looks like I have to share with Mike and Moe too.  

Mindy:  I am quite sure that it is my care and attention that will do the most to cure dadbean! 

We hope our friends are having a drier day, perhaps even a sunny day!

Rainy Caturday

When it rains and it is a bit cool, we simply make the best of it!

Last week, on Saturday, it was sunny and we saw the twin fawns that visit our yard.

They were standing very, very still and didn't think we saw them.  We did and now you can see them too!  The white spots on their coats have almost gone, in fact the spots are not visible at all in this photo.

PS:  sad news - our friend Oliver (Everycat)  suddenly went to the Rainbow Bridge on Friday.   We send our purrs to his heartbroken family - Gerry, Mungo and their 'beans. 

Thankful Thursday

We're thankful we are not living outside any more. We have a cozy home. Outside it is stormy. First it snowed and then came wind and rain.
