Cookie: I am authoring our blog today.
I have decided that we are participating in the The Saturday Photo Hunt and the photo theme today is 'vast'
Humm, had to think about this and nothing was coming to mind, so I had ta look it up on the internets; it could mean size, quantity or even an area.
I looked through our photos and found some of our local landscape taken a week or so ago, before the blizzard came.
We live in an area where there are a lot of beaches and in winter, without the crowds of beach goers, the landscape looks deserted and of course - vast.
This one is only minutes away. The tide is out. If you look close you can see seagulls riding the waves.
This beach is also a short drive away. A great time to get photos is at sunset.
The north Atlantic Ocean lies beyond the horizon. The ocean is also vast.
This photo was taken the same day as the one above, a couple of weeks ago and within a few minutes drive of the other two.
These beaches are part of a large bay - St. Margaret's Bay in Nova Scotia. There is an active lobster fishery here, although no boats were spotted that day.
These beaches in winter are actively used by people walking dogs or people who enjoy being outside on a nice sunny day.
I am throwing in a bonus photo, nothing to do with vast, unless you count the ice this duck is walking on. This duck was photographed on one of the ponds behind the beach in the first photo.
Have a great weekend everyone!
