Labour Day

We are in Canada so today, our calendar says it is

Labour Day

It is celebrated on the first Monday in September.

It is supposed to be a day to relax and enjoy the last days of summer. 

Here is our dadbean, but we don't think he is relaxing.  He has his work gloves on.

Me too!  Although I think I heard something out on our deck.

It is "Miss Kitty" , she lives a few houses away.

No manners though!  She is on our deck and lying on our patio table.

What nerve!

Time for you to return home, it is nearing 6:00pm and you are not allowed out after that time......so bye, bye!

Hope everyone is safe from the hurricane threats, we are only supposed to get some rain tomorrow.

 

Thankful Thursday

We are thankful that we get to do a post today!  Our humans have been busy with lots of relatives visiting this summer, so they have not been able to help us with more regular posts.

 Cookie:

 Ah, I need to rub my cheeks on mombean's ankle.  I like it when she spends time with me.  

 Mike:

 I am looking for the perfect nap spot.  I have a choice of the sofa downstairs or the futon upstairs...decisions, decisions.

Mindy:

 I am checking our window to view the bird TV, especially those hummingbirds coming to the feeder which is hanging just above this window.....outside of course!

Moe:

Good thing there are more windows so that I can get one to myself.  I prefer and open window, so I can hear as well as see all those tasty looking birds.

Peggy's Cove

This place is very near to us, probably about 20 miles.  Our humans took a detour recently and made a visit.

Here is our dadbean standing on the huge rocks and getting some photos.   The water you see is a small pool among all the rocks.  The ocean is behind him - you might be able to see the small glimpse of blue beyond the rocks.

Wandering Mancats

 

Today it is sunny, but cool!  We even had a skiff of snow, mostly gone now, except in the shady areas.  A taste of what is to come!

 

However, our post is about yesterday, very mild, and we discovered - also drizzly and wet.

 

Moe:

Okay, we didn't know it was drizzly 'n wet until the front door opened - all by itself, yes we didn't push it or anything because it opens inwards.

 

Our mom and dad bean were in the basement, and they spied from the window, me, going out the front door and onto the walkway!  Oh yes, exploration time, yay!

 

But, no! it was really raining by now and I was getting wet.  Then I heard mombean coming.  I dashed back into the house, way back so she would have to look for me.  She saw Mike at the open door.

 

Mike:

Yes, I was trying to make up my mind - should I stay or should I go?

Well, I stayed put.  Not because I would get in trouble, it was because I really, really hate the rain.  I love my comfort, especially a cozy bed and food.  Especially food, oh, and treats.  I would miss those things if I were outside....in the rain.
