Wednesday Wild Things

Mindy:

This morning I watched while our humom scattered some sunflower seed on the big rock where the pheasants and doves like to dine.

We went to the window to watch our "bird TV" to start.  We love watching the birds!

However, this is what we saw instead -

A very cheeky deer!  It stuck it's tongue out at us and started to eat the bird's seed and wouldn't leave until it had feasted on every seed out on the big rock.  Oh, the outrage we all felt!  For dessert, it munched on mombean's hosta plants.  She was not happy about that.  The dead-looking branches in the background are what is left of our rhododendron bushes.

Mike and Moe:

We were hoping that those tasty-looking pheasants would come for our...  er, we mean their breakfast at the big rock too.  They did not show up this morning.

Cookie:

I can hear the rain starting to hit our windows, therefore, I think I will go into our office/music room and find my favorite office chair.  A restful nap is a great way to spend a drizzly day!

We wish our visitors a great mid-week day!!

Saturday It Rains

Mindy

Hi everyone!  Yes, it is raining hard at times.  This makes it difficult to watch our bird and squirrel TV at our window.

I have been watching the young birds fly around our deck, they must be in flight training and sometimes they alight on the deck railing.   We found an empty nest that had been knocked out of a tree.

I wonder if this had been their home.

One of my other favorite subjects to watch is Mr. Squirrel!

He is snacking on some of the sunflower seeds that fall out of the bird feeder.

We have a few colorful flowers that are trying to survive the heavy rains.  We got a couple of photos on a sunnier day.

This one is from our magnolia tree.

and this one from our rhododendron bush

This last one does not grow in our yard at all, we wish it did.  It is a planter which you will find in our public gardens.  I did not go there, but our human beans did.

Hope you enjoy these, because I wanted to post something colorful on a cool and rainy Saturday!

Hope you are having a great weekend!
