International Box Day 2015

We love boxes!

Moe

....even when the box is a little small.

Mike

just my size

Cookie

Ah, this one is purrfect!

Mindy

I don't really like boxes, can't you tell?

A great International Box Day to our visitors!!

Monday As Usual

What was unusual you may wonder?

Our humans were away this past weekend on a mini vacation.

Mindy

Moe and me - Mindy - looked after things here at home on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  Our neighbour next door came in to give us our meals.  Other than that, Moe and I had the place to ourselves!

Moe

Yes, Mindy, we had our choice of napping spots!  Great time we had on our own, but not too long, just right.

Cookie

Mike and I went to our vet's because they run a boarding area for cats and dogs and our cat sitter was not comfortable with giving our medications.   First, the two of us needed to be up to date on our vaccinations as it has been a year already since the last ones.

Mike

Our vet decided it was time to do a health checkup as well.  Cookie and I are not fussy about being weighed and poked with the stabby needle.  We were in residence for two whole nights and were sure glad to get back home!

Home is best!!

Tabby Tuesday - Rain

Yes, rain today, but we can use lots of rain for our garden.

We can watch the raindrops through our windows, of course

OR

 watch these

Four pheasants today.

Mike

I like watching our bird "TV" but I also like this office chair, cause I need to help with posting on our blog.

Mindy

Beauty sleep is important, so I make sure I get lots!

Cookie

Ha, ha, I have the best photo today - the better to see my handsome face.  I get breakfast in bed too!

Moe

The door to the spare bedroom is open, so that means I must make sure this bed is comfortable for any guests that might stay over.

Sunday our humans got photos at sunset by the ocean, here are a couple of photos they took

lots of people were  there also taking pictures

Here's another

Have a good week everyone!

Happy Caturday - Good News!

The 'good news' is that our fur cousin,Georgia, is going to be just fine!

Her lab results are back and everything is normal, yay!

However, she still needs fluids and her vet is going to monitor her for another day or two.  Her human 'mom' and three kitty house mates are extremely happy!

We have more good news at our house, the snow is all but gone!

......and, we have some lovely daffodils to cheer us up.

It is May after all!

Mindy

I am waiting for my humans to give me a tummy rub.

Cookie

Do I hear the sounds of our pheasant looking for his breakfast?

It comes to our feeder every day.

Moe

Where are you Mike?

Mike

 Um, not far away

We should make a plan

Got any ideas how we can break into that container where our food is stored?

I broke in before, so I know it can be done.

Moe:  Last time I succeeded, it was because I pushed the container off the shelf, and the cover flew off.  Our food was all over the floor!  Success!

However our dadbean put a bungie cord around it, so now it is firmly attached to the shelf.

Mike:  Perhaps some of our visitors know a good way to get around this obstacle and finally get a snack - just a little snack.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Purrs for Georgia

Our sweet fur cousin, Georgia, needs lots of purrs and purrayers.

She has not had much of an appetite and has been to her vet's for tests which can take several days.  In the meantime, she is home, but she could use some healing thoughts and her mombean your positive vibes.

We love you, Georgia!!

******

At our place, we have been watching the shrinking piles of snow

It is now May 5th and time for this to be ALL gone!

  Moe

I spend lots of my time patrolling the kitchen.  I try to look really cute hoping for a treat and if that doesn't work, I try the pitiful 'I am starving' cry - both with mixed results - there are never enough treats even though our mombean disagrees.  I need to come up with a new plan.

Cookie

My dry food is available at all times, and I have actually put on some weight, which is good as I was a bit thin.  I have the bathroom all to myself, so the other kitties cannot snack on my low protein crunchies.  Oh, and I have a heating pad under my bedding for when I need it.  I am doing good for an old fellow.

Mike in front and Mindy, snoozing

Please do not make up this bed, we like it just the way it is.

We want to share a photo of our window feeder which is for birds, but has been taken over by one of our backyard squirrels.

We hope our visitors are well and in good spirits and wish you all the very best!!

Tabby Tuesday with Mike

Let me tell you about my day, so far.

I got up at the usual time. It was still dark outside.  However my tummy said that it was time for breakfast.

It is the most important meal of the day, therefore it was necessary to awaken by sleeping humans.  After all it WAS time for breakfast.

I did get my breakfast, and as an added benefit so did my fur buddies.....Moe, Mindy and Cookie.

That was hard work and I needed a quick snooze.

I found the perfect nap spot.

Ah, life is good!

Whap Up on Saturday

Moe and Mike

We are not really engaged in a 'whap up', we prefer to call this an animated discussion!

Happy Caterday!

Happy Valentine's Day 2015

Today the sun is shining, the sky is clear, lots of sun puddles for us to bask in and we want to wish everyone a wonderful Valentine's Day.  Our orchid is still in bloom and it is, if you use imagination, almost heart-shaped!

Moe

Yes, today is lovely and many birds and squirrels to watch.

Mike

I love sunny, warm places to nap on.

Mindy

I  am hoping my humans will sit long enough for me to enjoy some 'lap time'

Cookie

Put that camera away, I would much rather have some chin rubs and treats!

We hope everyone's  Valentine Saturday is a special one!!

We are participating in the Caturday Linkup at:

Caterday Linkup

It's Caterday again!

go to

Sidewalk Shoes

to join in the fun

We have a bit of a mystery at our house.

Here is the clue

Who or what, made these footprints?

Moe

I will get right on this mystery and start investigating.

Mindy

Good idea Moe, we must find out.

Cookie

Not me as I do not go downstairs.

Well there is only one suspect left.

Mike

Yep, must have been Mike as he is looking a little TOO innocent, plus he is asleep and can't deny it, so we blame him.

Here is a bonus photo

Hope this hoya in bloom will bring joy to your day!

More Critter Watching

Yet another snow storm!

However, we are keeping our birds and squirrels fed and bonus the pheasant showed up as well.  All looking for a meal in our snow covered yard.

So here is Mr. Pheasant.  Showed up today after the latest snowstorm.  Probably very hungry, too, and wandered in wondering what we have to offer.

Now we have to stock up on more sunflower seed and mixed seed.

One of our squirrels during the snowstorm.  Looks like we will have to stock up on suet cakes too.

We have a recipe for making these cakes, but need to get the supplies.

Moe

I never tire of watching that yummy looking squirrel.

Mindy

Me as well, so close.

Mike

Sometimes the woodpecker comes to snack on our suet cake.

Cookie

I've just had a snack, so therefore an uninterrupted snooze is what I want.

Our humans are outside cleaning the deck and walkways from piles of snow.  Later we may get some rain and then a freeze up....should make things slippery!  We suppose that is why our humans get a bit cranky lately - it's the weather, of course - never us!

Update:  it IS raining now, overtop of the ice and snow - it is not fit to be outside!

Also the truck spreading sand on the road just went by - it also plows back the ice and snow at the same time.

Notice the "fog" from the melting snow during this mild spell.  It will be cold again by tonight.

OK enough about our weather, here is hoping yours is way, way better!
