Introoder on Wednesday

It is Moe, posting today.

This kitty followed our humans home when they went for a walk.

Our people said they think they know on what  street this kitty lives.  It has followed other people home too.  Sometimes, the other people feed it, and sometimes she eats what they give her.  However, she doesn't always finish her handout.  Therefore she is not starving and we are not sharing!

Sounds like mooching food, to us!  We almost feel we should also be allowed out to mooch around the neighbourhood too!

However, she can be very annoying!

She wants to come inside our home!  Guess what?  That is definitely not going to happen.

I made my most ferocious howls and growls!!

It seems to have worked because she ran off!

I think I did a great job protecting our premises from that introoder!!

One must always be on the alert!!

Reflections on Monday

The first thing to reflect on - is - that it is the first Monday in of the month of  December.

Moe:
Our humans were gone from home most of the weekend.  I used my time more wisely, and took a bath.

Mindy:
I had a few thoughts of my own and decided to get in a little of my beauty sleep.

Cookie:
You can get the best rest ever, when you cover your nose with your paw.

Mike:
I have the futon all to myself and there is enough space for one of my catnip toys.

We hope our visitors will spend Monday in at least reposing, if not reflective ways.

Purrs for Sweet Tillie

Update:  Rest in Peace, sweet Tillie.
******

As you may know, our dear furcousin, Tillie, has not been feeling well lately, and was in to see her vet on Tuesday.  The Metacam for pain she got is not helping, so her mombean has taken her back to her veterinarian this morning and she will stay for a couple of days.  They are running tests as of now and her mom tells us that the vet thinks the problem might be her kidneys.

She is not eating and her mom is  so worried.

We have to wait for results.

Please send purrs and prayers for a good outlook for this sweet girl at

Thank you so much!!

Last Monday of the Month

It is Monday and  a lovely sunny day, but cold.  Our humans tells us it is -2C.

Cookie:
I wanted to go outside on the deck.  I put my nose out of the door.  Chilly.  I like comfort and warmth.  As you can see I am not happy.  I would like the temperature to be warm enough for me to go outside, so I can chew on some blades of grass.  But, the grass is so cold, even our rhododendron bush has curled up its leaves to preserve moisture.

However, I have just been told, that outdoor temperatures will eventually get much colder.  It is still only Fall.  Can we possibly simply skip Winter and go straight to Spring?

Moe:

You would have to give up the holiday season, Cookie!  You would miss the turkey that always gets baked.  Remember, we always get some of it to eat.
Our humans usually have some extra special foods that taste wonderful.  Last week they went to the Parade of Lights - it is the start of celebrating!

This is one of the floats in the parade, which lasted about two hours!  Look at that candy house!!

Mindy:
It is a lovely gingerbread house. However, I heard that it is not made of gingerbread.  It is very pretty though.

Mike:
I hope our humans start making those buttery, delicious cookies again this year.  I think they are called shortbread.  Much better than gingerbread.  Either way, I like to help with the clean up.  I love butter.....and cream, and the holiday season!

Wandering Mancats

Today it is sunny, but cool!  We even had a skiff of snow, mostly gone now, except in the shady areas.  A taste of what is to come!

However, our post is about yesterday, very mild, and we discovered - also drizzly and wet.

Moe:
Okay, we didn't know it was drizzly 'n wet until the front door opened - all by itself, yes we didn't push it or anything because it opens inwards.

Our mom and dad bean were in the basement, and they spied from the window, me, going out the front door and onto the walkway!  Oh yes, exploration time, yay!

But, no! it was really raining by now and I was getting wet.  Then I heard mombean coming.  I dashed back into the house, way back so she would have to look for me.  She saw Mike at the open door.

Mike:

Yes, I was trying to make up my mind - should I stay or should I go?
Well, I stayed put.  Not because I would get in trouble, it was because I really, really hate the rain.  I love my comfort, especially a cozy bed and food.  Especially food, oh, and treats.  I would miss those things if I were outside....in the rain.

Mindy
Those two almost wandering mancats afraid of some drizzle!!

Cookie

I can understand, I love my comforts.  See this office chair?  It is mine, all mine!

Here is Dadbean
Before it started to rain, gathering up leaves

Anyone want a few oak leaves?
We have lots!

Remembrance Day and Veteran's Day

Moe:

It is a quiet day here and it is Remembrance Day.  In the U.S. this day is known as Veteran's Day.

This is a day to honour our veterans, and in Canada also those who have given their lives to protect our country.

Our humans went to a special outdoor service, always held on November 11th at the 11th hour of the day.

Our country's flag and our provincial flag during this service.

Poppies like this one bloomed in battlefields of Flanders in World War I, and help us to remember the sacrifice of those killed in battle.

Today is also a beautiful fall day and I want to show all of you this lovely and colorful display of fall foliage!

We hope these fall colors hold for a while yet for us to enjoy!!

Snoozin' Saturday

After all the excitement of Halloween on Thursday, we spent Friday seeking out the most comfortable spots in the house and catching up on our sleep.

Thursday, day of Halloween, was - well - indescribable!  First the weather that morning was quite cool and frosty, but otherwise nice.

This plant in our yard was edged with frost.

The day warmed up considerably, and by 5:00 pm we had a warm and very pleasant evening.  So lots of people started coming our door....60 at final count.  Did we ever mention that when someone knocks on our door, that is the signal to scram as far from it as possible!

Moe:
However, I was persuaded to come into the living room and to see our youngest neighbour all dressed for this occasion.  She is only a year old and having the best fun ever!
I like this little girl, she was handing ME a treat - our mom gave her some of my favorite and tasty snacks and she gave them to me.

A while later, a boy that our mombean used to babysit, came wearing his costume, accompanied by his mom and their dog, Sally.

Here is our dadbean giving Sally some attention.  Our humans had a dog like Sally long  before we came to live here.  His name was Ruff.

Finally, by 9:00 pm nobody was coming to the door anymore, thankfully.  At this point it had started to rain....and rain.  Then it got windy, and continued all day Friday.  Our power stayed on, but many in many places the power went off.

Today, there is some drizzle, but oh, it is so nice and quiet and we have been having a lovely snooze!

Happy Halloween!

Mindy
Halloween is here so we put up some orange colored lights.

Here they are, they look best when it gets dark

Cookie
I am in front our inside pumpkin.

We also have one outside.

Mike

 Halloween means lots of treats

I got in a bit of trouble because those are not our treats!
Those candy treats are for the little people in costumes that will come to our door.

Here are our treats for Halloween, fish flavored, crunchy goodness!

Moe
I see you Mike, from up here.   You ARE going to share with the rest of us, right?

We hope everyone has a safe and Happy Halloween!

UPDATE

We had 60 ghosties, goblins, big and small, to our door tonight!
