Fractious Friday

Mike:    Dang, I wasn't fast enough!!   Mombean says I have a way of looking for  trouble.  What, me?  I guess I should have dodged, instead of lunge.

None of the other cats have marks on them at all - it's always me.  Why?  Mombean says it is always me because I am the instigator.    I am not sure what that means, is it a compliment?

(PS mombean:  their claws are kept trimmed, but still sharp enough!)

April 1st - No Fooling!

Mindy says:

Yep, it is raining today - this is a true fact.   We really can't complain.  This is because our weekend was almost perfect!  Lots and lots of sunshine, and it was even warm.  That was good.

Not so good fact was - our human beans went away overnight on Friday to grandbean's home.  This kind of made our weekend less than perfect.  However, our 'beans have returned and all is back the way things should be!!

Now here's the 'no fooling' part - over at grandma's house are these wonderful flowers!  We do not have any of these, nor any of the honeybees that visit them.

Moe says:

Our yard needs to have some of theses awesome purple flowers, in fact next year we must have some.  Wouldn't you agree?

I am serious, I am not fooling!

Wednesday - Feels Like Winter

Cookie:  I wanted to go outside this morning to see if the grass is starting to grow.  I am disgusted!  There is NO green grass.

Just look at this - it is snowing - again.  Didn't Spring arrive a few days ago?

Mindy:  Don't bother going outside Cookie, just find a comfortable spot indoors - why not settle yourself near the portable heater.  Perhaps  our mombean will turn it on for us.

There you go, feeling better now, Cookie?

Photo Hunt - Flow

According to Wikipedia

"Flow (psychology)  is the mental state of operation in which a person performing an activity is fully immersed in a feeling of energized focus, full involvement, and enjoyment in the process of the activity. In essence, flow is characterized by complete absorption in what one does."

Mindy says:
I think, in this case, the statement above applies to me  - fully immersed, a feeling of energized focus, full involvement, and enjoyment in the process of this activity.  Yes, I was completely absorbed in my mouse hunting activity!

However my humans think in terms of a fast flowing river - streaming from one lake and on to another one, on the other side of the bridge.

Wacky Wednesday

Spring has arrived!!!  It sure looks white out there today.  The weather guy on TV said there would be sno*.  Yep, it snowed overnight and a little drizzle came as well.

This will not stop us from enjoying today, the whole day long!!

Mindy:  I am posting a photo of a nice sun spot.  This was not taken today of course!  You don't want to see what's outside.

Moe:  I've got the cat condo, it's perfect to curl up on. First I need to fix my fur.  Always look your best, you never know who will pop in for a visit!

Mike:  Mombean, a little more to the right.....purrfect, I love chin rubs.  Please ignore the marks on my nose.  I didn't win the whapping contest with Moe....next time though.

Cookie:  I am the Office Manager.  I share the chair with mombean while she helps us with our blog.  I am not responsible for any spelling errors.

This is a photo from a couple days ago, there was only a tiny bit of sno* then.    Mr. pheasant stocking up on sunflower seeds for breakfast.  Looks very well fed, don't you think?

He comes almost every day, sometimes more than once a day.  We never get tired of watching it.  One important thing though, it is a l-a-r-g-e birdie.  The smaller one behind it, is a Mourning Dove.  They are regulars as well.

Have a lovely Wednesday everyone!

**PS.....good news, as of this writing, the clouds are moving fast and the sun has just made an appearance! Hope the trend continues.

Update: -  RIP Eric.....our hearts are broken, he was our friend since we started blogging in 2007.  We will miss him so much.  Our condolences to his brofur Flynn and his mom and dad.

Happy Saint Patrick's Day

It's me, Mike.   I just want to wish everybody a wonderful Saint Patrick's Day (Lá Fhéile Pádraig) today!  I got dressed for the occasion, too.   See my shamrock bow tie?  St. Patrick used the shamrock in his teachings, so green is associated with March 17th.

I am going to celebrate this day by singing, drinking (oops - not), and breaking into one of those bags of Temptations that are hidden away from me and NEED to be eaten.

This is a new flavor, however I do not even need to think about it, I'll just dive right in.  It is sure to be a good flavor, right?  The bag is green after all.....unless that means natural...um, who cares?

Have a great day!
