When Is the First Day of Spring?

Mindy:  It has been a while since I last made a post to this blog.  This photo was taken about March 3rd.  It was cold and snowy.  I was sure I would see at least some signs that spring was on the way, but no, I had to wait.

So I took a nap.

Then another nap.

However, today, March 18, the sun is shining and I sit in my favorite window and enjoy the heat!  Our snowbanks are shrinking.

Here are two of our neighbors pushing the snow around a couple of weeks ago.

One more of me, Mindy, sitting on the coffee table and showing off, just a little bit.  Really though, I hope you also like the amaryllis plant we got for Christmas. It bloomed for weeks!

Mombean and I hope all is well with everyone in the cat blogosphere!

Is It Really Spring?

Mindy, reporting today's post.

Take a look at this photo of my backyard -

 

 

All this snow happened on Sunday - April 8.  Yikes, where did all this snow come from?  I had to ask mom to double check the calendar.  I did not get the date wrong!

 

Here it is Thursday.  Except for some very shady places, there is no snow now.  This is good, because I am ready to enjoy watching the spring birds coming to our feeder from my favorite windowsill.

 

 

Also I am happy to see the squirrel pop out from under the evergreen trees and gather sunflower seeds under the feeder.  Mombean always scatters some of these seeds on the ground for the squirrel and the pheasants.

 

 

Oh, mom, caught me washing my face!

 

 

 

OK, mombean, make yourself useful, and give me a belly rub!

Time for a snooze.  However, I can nap and keep ears and eyes on standby, just in case something needs my attention....you never know, I sure don't want to miss anything that happens and I choose my napping spot carefully.

Wha' Happened!

Yesterday, we enjoyed such a beautiful day.  It was sunny and warm,  - for March in Atlantic Canada, at 8C - and no snow on the ground.

Today different story, just look.

What happened to our sunshine and warmth?

There is only one way to deal with this situation.  Take a nice long nap!

Cookie: Here's my favorite napping spot - the chair in the office.  Best spot ever.

Mindy: I'm on the bed.  No one is allowed to make this bed until I am finished with my nap.

Mike: Thanks for sharing the bed with me Mindy, I get  to put my fur all over this robe someone placed here for me, how thoughtful.

Moe:  I can't sleep, this weather is making me hungry.  I need to search for a snack.

Here's what I'm looking for.

No matter where the Temptations are hidden, I can find them!

Moe:  Our mombean is taking a coffee break and using the nice china mug we won in one of the Cat Blogosphere auctions - it was donated by Ginger Jasper .  The writing on the mug says " cats are acutely aware that you cannot live without them"!!  Yep, it is very true.

 Mombean do you want some Temptations to go along with your coffee?  I will share.
