Getting Back to Normal

Moe here:

Our mombean is back home after being away helping grandbean with her physio appointments.  In the meantime, I will demonstrate how self sufficient we kitties need to be.

Whenever the fridge door is open - make the most of it!

Dadbean took good care of us, but just in case I might miss one of my snacks, I made sure to quickly take action - the good stuff is on the top shelf!

I  know, for instance, that Cookie's leftover cat food is in here - he never finishes his meals, which I do not understand!

See that chicken pie?  These shelves are packed with good things.  It is so hard to decide what to have first!

It is important to stock up on food, a big snowstorm is expected tomorrow and we need to be ready!

For all of you who are already experiencing this large weather system, still to the south of us, .....stay safe and warm!

We also heard of flooding in the United Kingdom across the Atlantic Ocean, we hope everyone is safe and dry.

Back Soon

Our typist, aka mombean, will be back soon to receive our dictation, and update our blog.  In the meantime, although we miss her lots, we know grandbean needs her more than we do and our dadbean is doing his best, filling in on the daily chores.  He takes our intructions very well - he is doing a great job.  We are proud of him and happy too!!

Photos will have to come at a later time.

Purrs from all of us,

Mindy
Moe
Cookie
Mike

Tabby Tuesday

Mike
This is how you spend Tuesday.  I mean mom just finished vacuuming the sofa and getting rid of our cat fur - now I have the hard job of putting all that fur back on it.  It is hard work, I need a rest.

Moe:
Don't tell my humans, but this table is where I found this lovely sunspot!

Mindy:
I got this chair first and it's way at the end of the living room.  It is quiet and cozy here.

Cookie:
While the other cats are getting their 'easy on', I think I will do some bird watching or hunt around in the kitchen to see what's cooking.  In any case I want to wish everyone a great Tuesday.

Saturday Photo Hunt - Vast

Cookie:  I am authoring our blog today.

I have decided that we are participating in the The Saturday Photo Hunt and the photo theme today is 'vast'

Humm, had to think about this and nothing was coming to mind, so I had ta look it up on the internets;  it could mean size, quantity or even an area.

I looked through our photos and found some of our local landscape  taken a week or so ago, before the blizzard came.

We live in an area where there are a lot of beaches and in winter, without the crowds of beach goers, the landscape looks deserted and of course - vast.
This one is only minutes away.  The tide is out.  If you look close you can see seagulls riding the waves.

This beach is also a short drive away.  A great time to get photos is at sunset.
The north Atlantic Ocean lies beyond the horizon.  The ocean is also vast.

This photo was taken the same day as the one above, a couple of weeks ago and within a few minutes drive of the other two.

These beaches are part of a large bay - St. Margaret's Bay in Nova Scotia.  There is an active lobster fishery here, although no boats were spotted that day.
These beaches in winter are actively used by people walking dogs or people who enjoy being outside on a nice sunny day.

I am throwing in a bonus photo, nothing to do with vast, unless you count the ice this duck is walking on.  This duck was photographed on one of the ponds behind the beach in the first photo.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Thankful Thursday

The storm that arrived yesterday,  has passed by, and we are thankful!

We won't bother relating all the details about the blizzard (we are all fine and the sun is shining) instead here is a photo of some of Jack Frost's work on our window.

Here is Mindy watching bird  "TV" as this hungry woodpecker enjoys the suet cake.

While the sun peeps out from behind the clouds and the patches of blue get bigger and bigger - we are enjoying our cat tree by the window.

Mindy, on the roof is eyeing Moe inside.  No reaction from Moe - yet!

Cookie is in the "basement", but he gets to have the heating pad, so he is very happy and cozy.

Mike is trying his luck in the kitchen, guess he is having a 'snack attack'.

Have a great Thursday everyone!

Good Bye Sunshine - Hello Blizzard

 Mindy
I have been looking out of our window this evening and we have enjoyed a very nice and sunny, but cold day.

This is the view of the last rays of sunshine, maybe for a while

Here is another ray
It is sunset.

Sometime tonight and into tomorrow, which will be Wednesday
we are getting lots of snow and wind, a blizzard in other words.

Arrrrh, not the news I wanted to hear!  I prefer my window watching to be full of signs of squirrels and birdies.

Cookie
I am glad that this heating pad is turned on, snowstorms bring on high and cold winds

I think that I will take a long winter's nap

Moe
Sounds good to me Cookie, I will do the same!  I got the best chair, the best spot.

Mike
I intend to eat and sleep - or is it sleep and eat?
I'm too tired to figure this out.  Plus I need to distribute more hair on the new sofa... makes it.....comfortable!

Wish us well during Wednesday!

Wishing on Wednesday

Mindy:
I am wishing there was no glass between me and that yummy looking squirrel!

It is so close and yet all I can do is watch and wish!

That creature is so annoyingly close
Sometimes I see another squirrel attempting to snack on that suet cake.  This does not work out so well because these critters do not like to share and instead chase one another all over our yard.  All I can do is watch and utter some bad words.

Mike:
Mindy, just relax and enjoy the show, why waste energy fretting?
I am "chill_axing" and that works for me.

Cookie:
Nothing is going to move me from this heating pad, I got here first and I am going to have the best snooze ever!

Moe:
Did you say 'snooze' Cookie?  Good idea, think I will try that.  I am wishing on Wednesday that I had found that heating pad first!

We wish our visitors a great Wednesday however you want to spend it!!

Good Bye, Tiger

Our dear furcousin Tiger has left us and gone on to Rainbow Bridge at the age of 17.  She was surrounded by love and knew she was loved.

Good Bye, dear Tiger, you will always have a place in our hearts.

and Mombean, Nancy

It has only been five weeks since they lost sweet Tillie, we are missing her terribly as well.

New Year 2014 starts with a Blizzard!

This is the pile of snow outside our door during the blizzard that arrived January 3 and into the 4th!

It was cold, it was windy and it was noisey!    At least it stayed cold enough that we did not get any rain following the snowfall nor a freezeup, which often does happen afterwards.

Cookie:

I did my best to ignore the weather.

Mindy:

I kept watch on our birdfeeder. Lots of birds came to eat the seeds our mombean put out - they were very hungry!

Mike:

I got word that my wellness check at the vet's office went very well!  I am happy with that, as I do not like making trips there!

Moe:
I am getting some loves from Aunti Bean!  I love her cuddles.
She is Tiger's mombean.  Tiger is our fur-cousin.  Right now Tiger has been at the vet's with kidney problems, she could use some purrs

Get well soon, Tiger, we love you!

Psst:  the 4th was Aunti Bean's birthday!  Happy Birthday, Aunti Bean, we love you too!!!!
Our 'beans will be over to help you celebrate.
*******

Here is a photo our mom took the other night when she was out and about.  Yes, it is a backhoe with Christmas lights, instead of a tree!!

We hope the year 2014 will be great for all of us!!

Post Christmas Events

There was a flurry of activity; pre, during and post  around Christmas time.  Our humans were having company and going places.

Strangers in our house, some of them were little people.  The little people liked us and fed us goodies.  They are welcome to come again!

Today we decided it was time for some winter naps -

Cookie
I am snoozing on a heating pad and this is so cozy for my old bones.

Mike
I am sleeping on the new living room sofa.  I need to make sure it is absolutely the most comfortable place to be.  It is in for some serious testing!

Moe
Okay pink would not be my first choice for a mancat, however, that is what is covering the lazyboy chair and right now, I am a lazy boy!

Mindy
I want to show our visitors our lovely plastic Christmas tree.  However a real tree is preferred by me because I used claw the bark on these when we had a proper live tree and drink from its water dish.

It doesn't smell nice and woodsy either.

Our humans went away to visit with family at Christmas and we had some snow for the holidays

Our yard was covered with a few inches of snow
This pretty picture did not last

Our weather turned nasty and there were many power outages over the Christmas holidays.  We are thankful our power stayed on and we were cozy and warm.

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!
