Saturday Photo Hunt - Blue

We are playing along with the Saturday Photo Hunt and the theme this week is 'blue'

This is our entry -

A very nicely restored blue car

 

Our human beans were out and about on Thursday and captured a couple more 'blue' photos of the sky and water.

 

 

This is a kite and used for kite surfing, look at the next photo to see whose kite.

 

 

 

It belonged to this man, who seemed to be having a wonderful time!  When he wasn't aloft and out of the water he was speeding along the ocean's surface.  This place is Conrad's Beach in Nova Scotia

 

Mike says:

 

 

I prefer to relax at home and not go near the ocean.

World Cat Day

Yep, it is August 8th and also World Cat Day!  

This means we need to celebrate.   So look what came in our package of flyers yesterday, and just in time for us to celebrate properly.

 We also got a coupon to encourage us to get another bag.

Those are very tasty, however we need to keep celebrating so another bag or four would be perfect!

August 5th NOMS Day (Not of my Species Day)

We had a note from The Cat Realm reminding us that it is Not of My Species  Day.  It started out as a 'dare' years ago, daring us to make a special non-species friend.  


Well that was easy! We have been friends, for years, with Roxy and Lucky  and with Poppy  as well as Tom, Vidock & Violette ! 

Now  each year on this day we celebrate this anniversary!

Alasandra, The Cats & Dogs are having a party and all species welcome!

While there, be sure to leave some purrs 'n prayers for Socks who has had three  biopsies  and is awaiting the results.


We are celebrating this occasion by getting an extra special treat.  

Moe and Mike:  We get to share the tasty fish tidbits!

Quiet on Sunday

It will be a quiet day, our mom and dadbean are going to Tallson's home for a bar-b-cue. 

 

Mombean made a layer cake with cream and fruit to take. 

 

I sure hope they will save some yummy things for us! 



The Saturday Photo Hunt - Guess

Can you guess why I am lying on this window sill?

 

 

If you guessed that I am keeping watch, you would be correct.  It is my job to warn our human beans  of any suspicious activity out there in our backyard.

This one is easy, at a beach, of course.  If you said that this is Clam Harbour Beach in Nova Scotia, Canada, you are absolutely amazing at guessing!

 

 

Also, if you are able to get here on August 18, you would be able to watch the sandcastle building competition.

I need to make sure our water bowls are filled at all times.

Cookie:  I am out on the deck

Mid-Day of the Week

 

Moe:  We think this means that it is Wednesday.

 

 

 

At least this Wednesday is not so hot as it has been on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday

 

Nice snoozing weather!  That is my plan for today, to snooze with one eye open.  My favorite spot is right here in the kitchen.  I need to be ready for when the refrigerator door gets opened, because I need to check that there is sufficient food inside.  It's an important job.

 

 

Mindy:  I think I will rest my eyes for a while

However,  my ears will be turned on, I don't like to miss anything!

 

 

Cookie:  This is my water dish Mike, you have your own downstairs.  My sight isn't very good, so mombean says I don't have to climb up and down the stairs if I don't want to.

 

Mike:  What ever happened to sharing? 

 

On the other paw, I don't like to share my food dishes either, but I am a reasonable mancat, I will share, but I tend to eat really fast and it helps that I am the biggest cat of the four of us.

A Lovely Visit With Blogging Friends!

Yesterday afternoon, which was Sunday, our mombean and Aunti Bean  (Georgia, Tillie, Treasure, JJ, Tiger and Julie's mom) met with  #1  from The Poupounette !

They gathered at Pete's Frootique  which is at the Sunnyside Mall in Bedford, Nova Scotia, Canada.

They had a great time!  

Also The Poupounette  did a very nice thing, they got #1 to pack goodie bags for us and for Georgia, Tillie, Treasure, JJ, Tiger and Julie, too.

Mike:  I had a great time checking out the goods.

This fun little cat toy smells, um, new, and I checked it out thoroughly and it is quite nice and I tasted it too.  However, you probably know that I am just a little bit - okay maybe a lot - food oriented!!  Gosh, yes, I love food.  Especially when it comes in those awesome little bags like we got from #1.

Yum, I certainly enjoyed sampling the tasty treats!!

Moe:  I'm taking a break from playing with those fun toys and it's a good way to keep fit, even though I am not actually working out by the looks of this photo!

Mindy:  I am claiming all the pink and purple things from that gift bag!

Cookie: I have issues with my sight, but I can touch, feel, and smell all of those wonderful gifts!

Oh, our 'beans enjoyed their visit, talking, having lunch, and talking some more.  They said the time passed all too quickly and promised to meet again when #1 comes back for a visit.   What a wonderful time they had!

Wednesday - a Feast!

 

Mindy:  We are back!  Our beans have been busy with a visiting relative.  Nice person though, she liked us lots.

 

 

I am anticipating these nice fishies!  I can smell them and almost taste them, even before they finish cooking.

 

 

Here is a photo of those delicious mackerel!

 

 

They are small, but smaller is tastier, plus they are fresh caught.  A bonus, when you live near the ocean like we do. 

 

 

Here is Mike resting after his part of the fish feast.

 

 

It was delicious.

 

Now for a couple of bonus photos.  Here is our Aunti Bean making friends with a friendly pony.

 

 

 

Next, our beans took some time to go into our city and stroll on the boardwalk beside the harbour.

 

 

One, for a fee, can board this small sailing ship and cruise around the harbour, but we prefer to stay on land, preferably in the most comfortable spot in our house!
