On Thursday

......I made a blog post. Meaning me, Cookie.



See me here hard at work. No one else around here seemed inclined. Maybe that is because we are finally having some nice, hot, summer weather and everyone else in da house is outside or snoozing. I will do my best.....hummmm, now, how do I upload? Hope I do this right. Here are a few more photos.

Yup, in da kitchen. Notice he is on the counter? He will get in trouble.

I found Bono right behind him.


Bono is another food seeker. He loves a little splash of milk once in a while - like every time the fridge door opens.

This little buddy comes to our window feeder.


We find it to be tasty looking , I mean entertaining.

Mom is so happy the deer didn't find her one Stargazer lily plant. It has six, count 'em, blooms this year. Life is good.

By the Sea

A couple of weeks ago Mickey's mom came for a weekend visit. She is our Aunty because our mom is her sister. They decided to go for a late afternoon drive to Peggy's Cove. They took their cameras and got lots and lots of photos.

Here are some photos our mombean took.

This is Mickey's mom in front of the famous lighthouse which has recently had a fresh coat of paint. Great backdrop for mombean's photo, we think.



This small cove is home to a working fishing village. Here is a photo of some of the fishing boats and gear.


Some creative soul that needed a break from work, put together this comfortable looking bench. We wouldn't mind curling up on that, and the view would be awesome too - all those fishies and gulls to watch.



Another creative soul with way too much time on his (or her) hands made a small hut out of lobster traps. It has a door, which seemed to be locked, and a tarpaulin roof.


More buoys. Buoys are placed in the water as markers. they mark where there is danger or where the fishing gear is. In this case they are hanging to dry - or - simply there for decoration!

...another. This view shows that mom was walking up the hill towards the lighthouse, and took this one looking back.


Mombean got a picture of the water rushing over the huge rocks.


to show you all the immense size of the rocks, mombean included some other visitors in this shot to give the rocks some scale.



There were lots of people taking photos.

It started to get dark though, so mombean quickly took a picture of the giftshop and dining room with its lights aglow.

1. Our home, all of us were rescues, so we are happy to be here.

laughter with all of them.

4. Lots of places to explore in this howse, but our favorite places to relax seem to be the
ones our beans like too. cookie is forever occupying the comfy chair in front of the computer
before mom gets to it. We leave, thoughtfully, lots of our furs all over our special spots on
the furniture. The beans even put little mats on our favorite spots, but then mom collects and
washes them for some reason.

5. Windows and sills! The ones facing the backyard are the best. We gets to see birdies at
the feeder, and bonus - squirrels, a chipmunk, a pair of pheasants. Sometimes the groundhog or
the introoder cats invade our yard. We sees them all.

We have one more to show you, taken in our back yard.


These awesome clouds have been around for weeks, it seems. Impressive as these are, they have been giving us lots and lots of rain!

Introoder!

We checked our windows as usual looking for introoders in our backyard. Found one. TallSon told us that it looks like an over-sized gerbil.



Then mom came to take a look. She says that it's the woodchuck (aka groundhog) that lives next door. Apparently there is a den in our neighbour's yard. She was a bit worried when she saw it because they like to eat green things and it might want the delicious looking garden plants.

So we watched it for a while. Mom was very happy to see that it was chowing down on the goutweed in our yard. This weed is a pest in our gardens. We heard her mumble "gobble it up, eat all you want, furball".

'Beans really are strange, aren't they?
