Friday - Let's Celebrate

Our 'beans are away today and overnight, so this is a "not to be missed opportunity"!  Therefore we need to celebrate and what better way to do this? Invite everyone over to trash this house, of course!  Our invitation to a house-trashing is drastically overdue.

So, drop whatever it is you are doing and come right over.  It will be fun!

There is a fresh package of double roll toilet paper for hours of unrolling.  Want something more active? We have a nice set of stairs for a game of THOE, and you can run up and down and make all the noise you want.  The beds are purrfect for jumping on or hiding under if you need a rest. You can have the run (literally) of our upstairs and downstairs, however, the more adventurous may wish to explore our cellar or our attic - those places are usually in darkness and kinda spooky - are you up for that? We know some of you are!

We heard someone ask about food.  Well we live by the ocean so we are well supplied with seafood.  How about Kalamari Salad to start of with?  Followed by your choice of salmon, lobster, haddock, or halibut any style - baked, grilled, fried - well you get the idea. For meat lovers? Yeah, we gots lots of that too.

(There won't be any veggies, though - Mike is recovering from his 'beet' craze.)

Second servings and more are allowed.  Oh yes, we just finished making a huge  batch of niptini made from this year's crop of catnip.  Any takers?  Underage guests are welcome to some cream, whipped if you like.

Would anyone like dessert?  There are several options, we recommend the mousse, nicely mouse flavored, or beef flavor or....well we have a few more flavors.

Now, don't forget to.... parrrr - tay... and have a great time!!!!

We certainly will!  Any volunteers for cleanup afterwards?  

Thursday - Beet Thief

Mombean:  On one of my numerous trips to the kitchen, I encountered this strange and colorful mess on the floor.

Huh?  The floor was fine only a short while ago. 

I spotted Mike, suspiciously cleaning his face.....

.....and noticed I'd left the beets I had cooked, in a bowl on the counter...

..they are from our neighbor's garden, who nicely shared the bounty.  I thought them safe for a few minutes, I mean, it is hard to get people to eat these let alone a cat!  Oh, yes, I forgot ....Mike (the cat) will eat almost anything.  Oh, correction - anything and everything.

Mike says:   Do I look guilty??

By the way - them beets were d-lish!!

Easy on Sunday - Not!

Tabby Thursday - Is it?

Yep, it is Tabby Thursday...... or it could be Garden Thursday, not to worry.

First, though, we are going to show you our ESS.

We haven't had it that long, but we made really good use of it.  In fact, it has been so popular that it looks years old!  Mombean is pleased that we like it enough to use it often.   Oops, sometimes we forget and leave claw marks where we are not supposed to, do other kitties forget too?

Cookie:  I am very fond of going outside for snacking on fresh blades of grass.

Mombean planted this monster grass that is really yummy!  Plus I just enjoy getting out on the deck as often as I can.

Moe:  I am on patrol duty.  I have to make sure no introoders invade our yard!

Also I can watch that chipmunk fill it's cheeks with birdseed and run off to it's burrow.  It makes a lot of trips in the run of a day.

Mike: Ah, this has become MY chair - seriously, no one sits in it any more.

 That could be because I am always in it.  It is close to everything, especially the kitchen and I can hear everything that is going on from here.

Mindy: I love this blue carton.

It is well designed, see how there are appropriate cut-outs?  I can survey my whole domain from here.  Hey, I bet I could run the whole world from my special box.

Rock Star Monday

Moe:  I think I'm a good singer, just listen

Of course, I need to practice a bit more.  How about this?

Mindy:  Good thing I am in another room!

You know, I think this rug pattern is almost as nice as my pattern furs, mine are better of course!

Mike:  Big decision, do I stay here and get comfortable....or....

...... do I head to the kitchen and convince the 'beans I am starving?

Cookie: Nice head scritch dadbean, with your foot, almost got the right spot.

However, a little more to the right would be perfect!

In our yard today, we saw the pheasant chicks from our window, they are getting almost as big as their mom and dad!

One more photo, yesterday evening, mombean captured this gorgeous sunset and we want to share it with everyone.

Hope everyone is having a good Monday, ours is very hot and sunny again.  However, tomorrow it will rain and be much cooler, but we need the rain.

Mike:  What can I say, it's Sunday after all.

Moe:  Ah, this is the life!

Cookie:  Fresh air and sunshine, nothing better.

Mindy:  I have a special hiding place underneath the old refridgerator , but mombean found me - how did she know I was here?

PS - the old fridge still works.

Bonus photo:  this little hummingbird will very soon be heading south for Fall and Winter, but she will return next Spring.  She is visiting the feeder on our deck, storing energy for the long flight - see you next May little hummer.

Wednesday Evening

It has been a quiet day here for all of us.  Then we realized that we are behind in our blog posts.  We didn't do much today, except try to avoid any kind of exertion.....it's summer and we like to park ourselves and watch our birds, squirrels and the chipmunk from our windows.


Cookie:  I think mombean got the best photo - of me!   I was able to go out on our deck today.  There is some giant grass beside the deck that I got to chew on.

Mike: Oh hi everybody.  It's such a loooong time until someone (usually mombean)

 goes into the kitchen - then I am able to stir myself into action and hopefully snag a snack. 

Moe:  I am sitting on our ESS waiting for someone to get me some of our homegrown catnip - our plant is really TOO big so I think it needs a trim.

 

I will gladly accept any and all trimmings,  just pop them here on the ESS and I will take care of the excess nip.

Mindy: I am upstairs where it is peaceful and quiet and the mancats are downstairs.  However, if anything exciting should happen I can be downstairs in a flash!

Hope everyone's Wednesday, or perhaps by now I should say Thursday is great.  Mombean is going to be out Thursday, getting things done.  So, us cats will look after things here.

World Cat Day!

Today is - World Cat Day!  All four of us kitties want to help celebrate, so we 'borrowed' Mitalee's lovely badge so we can do our part on this special day.

Tabby Tuesday - Goodie Bag

We won a Goodie Bag in mid July from The Poupounette!  It came into our mailbox yesterday all the way from France.  They had a special draw for their blogoversary and Bibi-Chan picked the paper with our name on it.  We are very excited to see what is inside.

Mindy:  I was the first one to appear when the package got opened.

Beside the yummy looking  cheese flavoured Catisfactions, I am 'claiming' the pink Crinkle Critter which looks a lot like a tabby cat except I am lying on it so you can't see it well.

Here comes Moe to see what I have.

Moe:  Wow, Mindy, we certainly won a lot of lovely things.  Some to play with and some to eat!
Do I detect the scent of catnip?


 Yes, yes!  It's coming from the Cosmic Catnip Banana!   Oh, how intoxicating!  Oops, I managed to put a few teef marks on it!  Also on the nip-filled fishy!

Oh, oh, I just found the Whiskas treats, and I am rubbing my cheeks all over the package because I would love to chow down on this, but mombean says I need to share it. 

Aso I has to share the HubaBuba formaggio, which by feeling the package seems to be cheese balls! I can hardly wait - 'nip and cheese are the best!

Cookie:  I heard all the comotion!  I just have to check out this box, make sure nothing is left inside

I, too, like that nip banana!  Maybe I'll take it back to the office and put it in my favorite chair.

I think I will add my own teef marks!

Mike:  Did someone say that there is a nip banana in the package and did I hear mombean say we need to share?

|I am going to rub my cheeks on this nanner too!  I think Moe hid the fishy, but I'll find it!

There was something for our mombean, too - butter biscuits, she likes those!

PS    we just noticed that it is our 600th post.....all these good things are a good way to celebrate.
