Frosty Friday

Good Morning!  Cookie reporting to day.

I just checked to see if the lap top is on.   Next I'll get mombean to help me with our blog.

It has turned cold, yesterday we saw some snow flurries, yikes.
However, in spite of a sunny morning, mombean went out on the deck and saw frost!

It won't last though, which is good because I like going out on the deck, but hate cold feet!   Before the sun hits the garden,  mombean took a couple of 'frost' pictures.

Our grass

at the edge of the lawn, the plants look so white.

Don't worry they'll survive, it's a  light frost.

As soon as this blog post is finished, mombean is going to get busy.  She has been collecting ingredients.  Huh, ingreedy....what?  Not sure what she means.  I see, she says it has to do with food.  Ok, I'm interested, I LOVE food.

Cookie:  Mombean what IS this stuff on da countertop?
Mombean:  I need to make a vegan Tourtiere and a vegan friendly pumpkin pie.

Cookie:  Oh, now I remember, someone in our family does not eat meat or dairy and they are having a get together to celebrate three birthdays and Canadian Thanksgiving, too.   Um, how can you have a proper celebration without turkey?

Mombean:  Oh, Cookie, there's going to be a roast turkey, would be like us to bring you back some?

Cookie:  I bet you know what my answer was!!

Hope everyone has a great weekend, and on Monday - Canadian kitties celebrate Thanksgiving and in the US it is Columbus Day!

Wednesday Washday with Bono

I heard dat washing machine start up.  I raced - okay, maybe I just walked fast - to the laundry room.

After a bazillion years da machine stopped churning and sloshing around - den comes the exciting part.  All da water dat was in da machine comes rushing out, really fast.  This is my favorite part!!   Then da water swirls around and around in da set tub, it's fascinating to watch - really, try it yourself.

After a few minutes da waters start disappearing into da drain hole at the bottom of the tub.  After dat,  I's not sure where it goes, but the fun part is over a'cause der's no more water left.

I wish mombean would come and watch wif me, she is missing all the fun!

Tabby Tuesday

Happy Tuesday to everyone! We are having some awesome early fall days here. The sun is shining and it is HOT again. Makes up for the the drizzly, foggy days we had over the summer.

Mike - I found a great place that's cooling to lie on. Can you guess where I am?

Bono - I love the heat. I am lying in the sun, soaking up the rays.

Moe - I found a comfy spot on the floor. Now if I could have a snack, too, I'd call this a perfect day.

Mindy - I like this comforter, it's soft and cozy.  The mancats don't come in here very often, and that suits me fine.

Cookie - It's portrait time.  I thought I'd show you my handsome face and my whisker bumps.

We received the "You Are An Inspiration Award" from Brian and we are so pleased he passed this on to us!

Though we are not 'new' bloggers, Brian is a 'new' friend with an inspirational blog of his own!  Thank you, Brian!

Now we would like to pass this award on to Tillie and Georgia.  Besides being our furcousins, they have inspired us over the years with their own terrific blog, so we would like to show our appreciation!

Wordless Wednesday

Well it's Wednesday afternoon already and  no post from us!!   We got tired of looking handsome, pretty, cute, fetching - oh, but there are five of us, we need one more adjective - ummmm, what about awesome?
We'll let our visitors figure out which word applies to which of us.

We were ready to do 'wordless' but that didn't happen for us - because mom's busy - and we need some fun.

Have a great Wednesday everyone!!!

Saturday With Bono

Oh, no.  I didn't get any stinky goodness this morning - at all.  Nor did a get a spoonful of milk.  I think I am losing my touch!

I tried really hard to give my humans the pleading look, the soft meow, I tried to look skinny - what am I doing wrong.

Ok, ok, I did get my breakfast, but I look forward to those little extras........so do the other four kitties....but I'm the one that asks in the nicest way.

Afternoon Tea

Mindy says: I'll start off our post today, since Moe is distracted. Over what, you say? Oh, usually it's because he thinks he is starving and not getting enough food. He lives for food and catnip.

While our humans were abandoning  er,away from us, they visited this lovely park.

This property once belonged to Canada's 10th prime minister and this building has a 'tea room' where you can get lunch and traditional English afternoon tea. The menu, however, is written in French, the official language of the province of Quebec. Yes, the property is located in the lovely Gatineau Hills. It's about a 15 minute drive from Ottawa.
While waiting for tea and lunch to arrive, they demonstrated how to raise your 'pinky finger' when you are drinking the tea from a teacup.
Aren't they being silly!! During lunch, here is the beautiful garden that can be seen from the outdoor tearoom - what a view.
Our mombean saw this lovely Monarch butterfly visiting the flowers!
Moe says: I would have a wonderful time there catching those butterflies. I knows just how to sneak up and - 'gotcha'!!
Mindy, lets make sure we get to go along next time they goes away someplace. They would have lots more fun, if we did that!!

Remembering 11Sept 2001

This is a link to joe's nyc. Joseph Holmes is a photographer who lives in New York city and posts photos of the city on his blog and we have been following it for years. He has a special photo for today; he took it  from the WTC in 1985.

We remember the tragic events this anniversary day holds, and this makes us sad. This is a photo of a place near our home, taken this evening.  It is very peaceful there.

We wish everyone could have a peaceful place to live and a contented heart!
