Wordless Wednesday

Well it's Wednesday afternoon already and  no post from us!!   We got tired of looking handsome, pretty, cute, fetching - oh, but there are five of us, we need one more adjective - ummmm, what about awesome?
We'll let our visitors figure out which word applies to which of us.

We were ready to do 'wordless' but that didn't happen for us - because mom's busy - and we need some fun.

Have a great Wednesday everyone!!!

Saturday With Bono

Oh, no.  I didn't get any stinky goodness this morning - at all.  Nor did a get a spoonful of milk.  I think I am losing my touch!

I tried really hard to give my humans the pleading look, the soft meow, I tried to look skinny - what am I doing wrong.

Ok, ok, I did get my breakfast, but I look forward to those little extras........so do the other four kitties....but I'm the one that asks in the nicest way.

Afternoon Tea

Mindy says: I'll start off our post today, since Moe is distracted. Over what, you say? Oh, usually it's because he thinks he is starving and not getting enough food. He lives for food and catnip.

While our humans were abandoning  er,away from us, they visited this lovely park.

This property once belonged to Canada's 10th prime minister and this building has a 'tea room' where you can get lunch and traditional English afternoon tea. The menu, however, is written in French, the official language of the province of Quebec. Yes, the property is located in the lovely Gatineau Hills. It's about a 15 minute drive from Ottawa.
While waiting for tea and lunch to arrive, they demonstrated how to raise your 'pinky finger' when you are drinking the tea from a teacup.
Aren't they being silly!! During lunch, here is the beautiful garden that can be seen from the outdoor tearoom - what a view.
Our mombean saw this lovely Monarch butterfly visiting the flowers!
Moe says: I would have a wonderful time there catching those butterflies. I knows just how to sneak up and - 'gotcha'!!
Mindy, lets make sure we get to go along next time they goes away someplace. They would have lots more fun, if we did that!!

Remembering 11Sept 2001

This is a link to joe's nyc. Joseph Holmes is a photographer who lives in New York city and posts photos of the city on his blog and we have been following it for years. He has a special photo for today; he took it  from the WTC in 1985.

We remember the tragic events this anniversary day holds, and this makes us sad. This is a photo of a place near our home, taken this evening.  It is very peaceful there.

We wish everyone could have a peaceful place to live and a contented heart!

Wandering Wednesday

Mindy says:   We were not wandering, our beans were though.

They were gone on a road trip.  They went to our capital city, Ottawa.  They said the round trip was over 4,000km.  Our country is big mombean says.  Mombean's sister who is Tillie and Georgia's mom, also went to Ottawa, but she flew on an airplane and got there first!

Here they are in the 'downtown' part of the city.
They liked theByWard Market
fresh fruit and
garlic

Mombean liked the mix of old/new buildings.  This 19th century house is a heritage house and cannot be removed, it is supposed to be haunted.  She found this out by going on this walking tour - at night! She said it was all in fun.

She didn't see any cats on this tour because they were all at home (of course), same as us!
However she did see one of our ancectors here:

She said that Dinictis lived in the plains of North America about 30 million years ago.  She said she wasn't scared of this one because it wasn't alive or even real because they are now extinct.  This model is what the humans think it might have looked like.  We are very impressed!

Here is something that is not extinct!  Our nip is just a bit scarce.

That is because Moe does not believe in saving any for later!!
He's just a little nipped-out right now and can't talk straight.    He's hugging the floor mat because it still smells like nip.  Yes, it was fresh nip from our garden.  Mom says we have to let it grow some more before she can pick some more.

Sigh :(

Mancat Monday

Time for Mancat Monday, with me, Moe.  Notice I am looking at the camera for once.  Occasionally it's a good idea to pose - er - show off a bit.   Of course I did expect to be compensated.  I told mom I would accept stinky goodness, some 'nip or Temptations.  Preferably all three.

Do other cats have any nose freckles like I do?

Whisker Hump Wednesday

Today we honour Kismet the originator of the term Whisker Humps.  We think on Wednesdays it will be a fitting memorial to the originator of the moniker "mancat" i. e. 'Mancat Mondays'.   Yep, and it caught on.  Perhaps Whisker Hump Wednesdays will catch on too.

Here are ours!

Moe

Mindy

BonBon (aka Bono)

Cookie

Mike

We think Kismet would be proud of all our 'whisker humps'.

How about you, are you participating?  It's all in fun

You will find out more about it at the Cat Blogosphere

Monday, Monday

Mindy, blogging today - as the song says "Monday Monday so good to me"
I think I will take it easy and enjoy the day.
I hope for everyone it "will be all you hoped it will be"

PS mom wants to know if anyone remembers the singing group - The Mamas and the Papas?

Right now, I think I will "dream a little dream"

PS   One of the members of the band, Denny Doherty, was born and raised in our city.
