Photo Hunt - Sports

The Photo Hunters Scavenger Hunt was started by tnchick, and anyone can play along.

Sailing is a sport which is very popular where we live.




Usually, people concentrate on racing yachts, but this is a replica of a schooner that used to race, as a working vessel, and raced undefeated.


Moe: I'm not much of a sailor, however.........


.......I don't mind staying behind on this wharf and trying my paw at a little fishing - that's a sport too!

We're Back on Wednesday

Yes, we know we've been gone again. It's not because we wanted to do this, our computer needed a new hard drive. It got it's hard drive months ago, but we were afraid we might have some big problems on account of it's being so old, so delayed putting having it put in.

Well, our fears were genuine. Dadbean installed this new drive and spent days fixing things that got broken, one by one. And this solved our problems? Ah, nope, it's still as slow as ever, but DON'T tell dadbean, okay? We are happy that it works at all and he was able to get it going again and we can blog again.

Cookie: I am near our computer ready to alert someone if things go wrong.


Mike and Bono: We did what we do best - stay outta da way and snooze


Moe: This is my place to wait out the delay. I did try to poke my nose into the computer fixing operation, but quickly decided this is a much better way to spend my time.


Mindy: I wanted to help too, so I read this book on higher mathematics. Meow nice and loud if you believe me.....do I hear meow's? Anyone?

New Week = Better Week?

After everything that happened last week, dadbean finally found out what is ailing him - shingles. I hope we don't ever get something like that because he doesn't look very good. Mombean says we prolly won't get these because we haven't had chicken pox....human illnesses are very strange. We cats get lots of rest, eat well and hardly ever worry...it's a good life.

Mike: this is a good way to keep your nose warm.


Mindy: My turn, Mike, to stretch out on the cat bed. Stretching and flexing my paws keeps up my muscle tone.



Cookie: actually my spot is THE perfect spot, I can nap, be near the kitchen and watch the back door in case I get the chance to go out on the deck.



Moe: take away that flashy box, no pictures please....see the airplane ears?



Bono: I am helping mombean with the blogging today, aren't I nice?

Wishful Wednesday

Wishing everyone a wonderful Wednesday, hope all is well while we've been away for a bit. Our beans were away a lot because things here have been happening all at once.

First they went to a beautiful late summer wedding. We have a picture of the lovely dining room all ready for guests. Aren't the colors appropriate for this time of year? Our beans said there was dancing later, they enjoyed themselves.






Perhaps Mickey and Miss Peach will feel inspired by this setting as they plan their own wedding!



Next sonbean went into hospital two days later to have scheduled jaw surgery. This went very well and he only spent one night in hospital because he promised to follow all the doctor's orders when he got home. He can't talk right now because his jaw is wired shut, so we give him extra smoochies.

Mindy: Here I am with mom, staying close because it was her birthday yesterday.





Now the not so good part. Granbean went into hospital through emergency, at a different hospital at the same time sonbean was also in hospital. Our beans didn't come home they stayed in the city all night to be close to both fambly members. Sadly granbean passed on - very peacefully - we are thankful for that.

The next few days the beans were busy with funeral arrangements, so they weren't around much. However, they took good care of us, just couldn't give us the usual amount of scritches and treats. We did what we cats do. We waited and snoozed and gave our beans some extra head bumps and rubs when there was a quiet moment or two.

Mike: I speak for all of us, including our beans when I say thank you for dropping by during these past few days and thinking of us and for leaving us your kind words.




A big "Thank You" from all of us.

PS - our grandbean lived a very full and active life. Back in January she visited Egypt and rode a camel at 88 yrs! She was amazing.
